Having fun is just as important to us as putting on quality productions.  And we keep the fun going year-round!  You don't have to participate in our productions or workshops to join us for a social event.  Everyone in high school is welcome to attend!

Every year we host a student playwriting festival in the late spring called The NEXTival. High school students write their own shows, cast them and then perform them for a live audience and CAST splits the profits with the students.

This year, we are doing the NEXTival a little differently. Instead of putting the pressure on one student to create a show from scratch and then cast it and mount the production, we will create new pieces of work using an ensemble mentality. We will pool students from different schools together and give them a theatre education mentor (a high school director) and a professional artist to guide them through the process of creating a show. It will be completely driven by high school students and their thoughts and ideas with advice and counsel from theatre professionals. The process of writing and building the show would start sometime in November and go through spring culminating with the NEXTival Festival in the spring where the students would showcase their work with multiple performances.

If you are interested in being involved in this new project, we will be holding an Informational Meeting (Digital) – Thursday, Oct. 22nd at 7pm. The link for this meeting will go out when we get closer to the date. This will be a time to go over the parameters of everything and answer any questions that people might have.

For more information or to receive the link to the virtual meeting, please contact us here.
